Keen to stand on the roof of Africa? Climb the world-famous Mount Kilimanjaro with us and make once-in-a-lifetime memories! The six itineraries below are our favourites and the ones we most recommend, as they’re all very beautiful and allow you to acclimatise properly – very important for a successful climb!

For many visitors to Africa, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a once-in-a-lifetime challenge. The climb takes in muddy rainforests, unique high-altitude plants, and alpine meadows before finally arriving at the glacier-coated summit. Standing tall above the savannahs of East Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro (5,895m/19,340ft) is an icon of Africa.

We recommend Lemosho and Rongai routes for novices, Northern Circuit and Machame for the beginners, and Marangu and Umbwe for climbers with prior hiking experience. Camping is required on all routes except Marangu (where climbers sleep in huts).
